Privacy Policy

The short version: We collect only what we need to run the product. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. Student profile information is used only to find scholarship matches and is never shared with third parties.

1. Who We Are

Archway Scholar (“Archway,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates archwayscholar.com and the Archway scholarship intelligence platform. Our contact email is hello@archwayscholar.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Student profile data — grade level, intended major, GPA, activities, background, state, college of interest, and goals. This is used exclusively to generate scholarship matches. It is never sold or shared with third parties.
Email address — collected when you join the waitlist, subscribe to updates, or complete a purchase. Used to send account communications, receipts, and (if you opt in) product updates.
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store raw card numbers. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.
Contact form submissions — name, email, and message. Used only to respond to your inquiry.

Information collected automatically:

Usage analytics — we collect aggregate, anonymized data about scout runs (major category, grade level, state) to improve match quality. No names or identifying information are included.
Web analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-preserving and does not use cookies or fingerprinting. No personal data is collected.

3. How We Use Your Information

To generate personalized scholarship matches using AI
To process payments and send receipts
To send product updates and newsletters (only with your consent)
To respond to support and contact inquiries
To improve the accuracy and quality of scholarship matching
To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with:

Stripe — payment processing. stripe.com/privacy
Anthropic — AI processing. Student profile data is sent to Claude AI to generate scholarship matches. Anthropic’s API terms prohibit using this data to train models. anthropic.com/privacy
Resend — email delivery for receipts and communications. resend.com/privacy
Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and privacy-preserving analytics. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Archway, our users, or the public.

5. Data Storage and Security

Student profile data entered in the free demo is stored in your browser’s local storage and never transmitted to our servers unless you run a scout (in which case it is sent to our AI processing infrastructure and immediately discarded after generating results).

Paid account data (email, credit balance, session history) is stored on secured infrastructure hosted in the United States. We use encryption in transit (TLS) for all data transfer and follow industry-standard security practices.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as required for legal compliance. You may request deletion at any time by contacting hello@archwayscholar.com.

6. Cookies

Archway does not use tracking cookies. We use a session cookie for authentication (keeping you logged in) which expires when your session ends. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics which is cookieless by design. We do not serve third-party advertising cookies.

7. Children’s Privacy

Archway is designed to help students of all ages find scholarships. For users under 13, we require parental or guardian consent before collecting any personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information without consent, please contact us at hello@archwayscholar.com and we will delete it promptly.

For students between 13 and 18, we encourage parents and guardians to review this policy and supervise their use of the platform.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information
Opt out of marketing communications at any time (unsubscribe link in every email)
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

9. Third-Party Links

Scholarship links and resources on Archway may point to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies before submitting any information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify subscribers by email of material changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Archway after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
